WHY SOLAR?

You've likely heard of and seen other home owners & businesses installing solar panels on their roofs, but always asked the question, does Solar truly save money, and what is the environmental impact of solar?


Installing solar panels on your home promotes US energy independence, and significantly reduces your homes environmental impact by using the sun as your energy resource. Solar energy systems do not produce air pollution or greenhouse gases. Using solar energy can have a positive, indirect effect on the environment when solar energy replaces or reduces the use of other energy sources that have larger effects on the environment.

Don’t forget about federal solar incentives! With the Investment Tax Credit (ITC), you can reduce the cost of your PV solar energy system by 26 percent.

Property Tax Exemptions.

Illinois allows for an alternative valuation of renewable energy home upgrades from property tax assessments. This means that the value you add to your home by installing solar panels, home batteries, or smart home energy controllers won’t add to your property tax assessment.

Illinois Net Metering.

Thanks to Illinois’ net metering policy, your utility will buy back any excess electricity your solar system produces. Net metering ensures that you benefit from the full value of your solar panels and is a great way to balance out your electricity production and consumption, which do not always happen at the same time.

This company solicited me a few months ago to have my house inspected for hail damage. I told the guy who knocked on my door that anytime I had purchased something from someone who solicited door to door in the past, I had gotten screwed so please go away. He did but came back a few months later asking for another chance to have the house inspected. I reluctantly agreed. The inspector found hail damage and contacted my insurance company. Long story short, the insurance company approved the claim (which was completely handled by this company) and new siding and gutters were installed in a day by a large and efficient crew.
